What first attracted you to Millionaire Paul Daniels?

A Classic line from the Mrs Merton comedy chat show – where Caroline Ahern poses as elderly chat show host interviewing suspecting B listed celebrities. So Debbie McGee was caught in her web unable to escape from the presupposition that is loaded to the hilt.

Similar to the question; When did you stop beating your wife? or Would you prefer to go out with me to the cinema or for a meal? Some of these are hardly subtle but in a sequence and with a number of pre-suppositions building your choices can start to become limited.

How do you see yourself contributing to this valuable project? I know you have played an important part before.

NLP Values and Valuing using NLP

NLP is about modelling behaviour.
Modelling conscious and modelling unconscious behaviour.
Behaviour is dependent on motivation.
Motivation is highly influenced by a person’s values.

In modelling a person’s behaviour we need to elicit their values.
If we change our values we change our motivation (towards and away from)
If we change our motivation we change our behaviour.

Values are supported by our experience base usually through imprint experiences or significant emotional events.

Values are not single dimensional entities but work within a dynamic depending on the context and personal outcome. So we can also change the way we develop our context or the outcomes we persue consciously or unconsciously through modelling.

So whats important in doing this? Why are you doing this?
Why is this person doing this? We can observe, question or even test through modelling?

What would stop or change the outcome?

Some NLP trainers recommend you only need to make a decision to change your values. Thats not really the case if it was we could change our values to fit the situation, we obviously do not do that. So if we wanted to increase the value of compassion from self centred bigotry that would be difficult just on the basis of a decision.

The reasons and consequences should be modelled out on the basis of each value.

NLP Can you model this? NLP Training?

A question for all NLP trainers – can you teach modelling?
Can you generate new NLP models? Can you give me an education in Modelling Behaviour through NLP?

Go on Youtube and contrast the answers of Richard Bandler and John Grinder ” What is NLP?” What a difference. Richard is a natural modeller, someone who can recover vital information quickly from a modelling subject.

You will notice John Grinder makes the clear distinction between Modelling and applications of modelling. So for instance theres modelling the Meta model and theres using the meta model. Two very different skills.

So if your thinking of going on a Master Practitioner Training – test the trainer out.

Can you show me a model you have created? Then test the model out – see how well it works.

Modelling Richard Bandler

About 9 years ago on a NLP modelling course near Tottenham Court Road in London. Richard Bandler, Paul Mckenna et all presented a NLP course on modelling. A lot of it was standard NLP however at one stage there was some modelling of Bobby Davro the comedian. McKenna and Breen were supposedly doing the official modelling and nothing remarkable was detailled by them.

However the next day Richard Bandler came on stage and gave a full download of what he had noticed. I wont give all the details here but one key point was that Richard had subjectively taken the position of Davro the previous evening. Davro had talked about the audiences perspective, Richard had followed him and paced each move. He had tested what was true for him in detail. It is technique for shortcutting to quick information about a subject. Matching position and physiology.

Modelling Live

I have just returned from The Emotrance Conference at Gatwick. It was really interesting. I was presenting on energy hypnosis for healers. A touch of mesmerism. What a nice group of people attended who had a great time, learning new energetic patterns and change techniques.

One of the most interesting things although there were many was a piece of modelling done in the moment by Silvia Hartmann. THe Eucharist pattern was created from one of the partcipant’s feedback during an exercise. How to find the sacred or key source in a simple everyday activity. ” What is the real need being fulfilled in having a cup of coffee, what is the ultimate individual motive for choosing a particular item or activity. What are you really going for?
A continental chocolate may represent a Eucharist as for one participant on the workshop.

Silvia has a knack of quickly calculating and identifying core patterns in listening to people.

It strikes me in this day and age we move away from meaning or our real needs and towards faster, cheaper and instant. Just look at the fashion with food and its availability.

Can you identify effective modellers in any field? Who can calculate patterns from human behaviour?

Another NLP Linguistic Change

If someone keeps re-running an unhelpful memory. It is possible to interupt and scramble it. Stop them mid sentence – pattern interrupt, replay back and switch between different subjects, so say they are talking about splitting up with someone, fractionate between that and something pleasant or swish into something neutral and repeat. Or another technique is to change the linguistic sequence BUT is a powerful word “you lost your shirt BUT you live to fight another day”. The roof blew off AND now you can think about your next steps to move on….

Making Money with NLP

In these difficult times, with recession, depression, slump and credit crunch and if we keep going, we can create such a negative sliding anchor, we could finish in a state of doom. This would not be useful , and in spite of the mass hypnosis provided by the media and politicians. We can create our own useful internal states using NLP.

I was thinking, what will be useful to generate to inoculate against any immanent financial problems. One thing is absolutely clear is that people are behaving generally from a position and state of fear, fear of scarcity, fear of uncertainty and fear of poverty. How would it be if you had nothing to fear, which you have not, unless you follow the crowd.

Just imagine yourself as a person full of abundant ideas and solutions, what does I feel like. Go back and find the time, where you were really creative, able to solve things, get things done. Provide value to your clients and customers. Really associate with that sense of abundance, notice where the feeling starts then where goes to, then loop it round, keep it spinning and keep it looping until it really intensifies. Then once it is strong enough, project it out into your future, project it out strongly, notice how it changes your plans and your sense of the future. Keep it going, stay connected. Start generating ideas.
